One of the major benefits of carbide steel is that it features a service life which is several times longer than the life of conventional steel wheels. Furthermore, carbide cutting wheels have consistently good cutting properties which produce clean cut edges for different glass thicknesses. A similar development can be seen with PCD (polycristalline diamond). Bohle continuously invests in the research and development of glass cutting technology. New materials are being tested both in our own laboratory and also in day-to-day practice in trial plants.
