Vetropol is a special aluminium oxide-based polishing agent for the chemical-mechanical polishing and cleaning of flat glass (also before sputtering).
It is used to remove strongly adhering impurities, swirls and haze, small and very small scratches, and an initial state of glass corrosion.
In contrast to polishing agents based on cerium oxide, Vetropol is very easy to wash off and has a chemically defined composition.
It reduces the roughness of the glass surface and the sodium content, which minimises coating defects.
To optimise the removal and polishing performance, an aluminium oxide with a grain size that is as uniform as possible, i.e. a narrow grain distribution, was selected.
84 % of the polishing particles are between 1 μm and 10 μm.
The proportion of particles below 1 μm, which therefore have no influence on removal, was minimised.
Particles larger than 25 μm, which could cause recognisable scratches, are not included.
Vetropol is used on flat glass polishing machines equipped with disc brushes or polishing pads.
The concentration of the solution used depends on the degree of soiling and the equipment used, and is between 30 - 80 g/litre.
The product must be stirred or shaken well before use. It is then diluted with the appropriate amount of water in the polish container. To prevent sedimentation, it is recommended not to stop the stirrer. Even after long pauses, the polishing agent can be slightly suspended when the agitator is switched on again.
Application note:
The product must be stirred or shaken well before use.
